Ourika valley
In the heart of the Berber country, Ourika Valley remains one of the most beautiful and best preserved valleys in Morocco, the small villages clinging to the flanks of the massifs, waterfalls and rocky landscapes that are confused with the omnipresent desert, all this forms a wild and seductive harmony in the confines of the Western Atlas.
We make day trips from Marrakech to Setti Fatma and through the Ourika Valley every day. This is a trip that will leave you speechless with your wonderful visits. Ourika Valley is a landscape of beauty and wonder. On Ourika valley day trip you will see Berber villages, calm streams, rolling hills and the peaks of the Atlas mountain in the distance that will make you want to take pictures whenever you have the opportunity. The waterfalls, some of which are outside the usual tourist route, constitute one of the most memorable parts. Just remember to bring food and hiking boots with you.
At the end of the tour we will reach the town of Setti Fadma. Here you will have free time to visit the Ourika Waterfalls and for lunch. If you wish we can provide you with the service of a local guide (approximately € 20) who will show you the waterfalls inside the mountains. Lunch can be taken at a local restaurant, in front of the river that prepares Moroccan cuisine (approximately € 15 / menu). Then I return to Marrakech around 5pm.
Ourika Waterfalls are 7 waterfalls. The first one is the most famous and accessible, it is a typical place to take pictures. We specify it because, really, for many it is the only waterfall they can see. To access the other six waterfalls a good physical form is necessary as it has to be climbed by wooden stairs, even climbing the rocks to reach the last waterfall (they must be visited with a local guide – € 20 supplement approximately-) and wear suitable footwear for this excursion. We do not recommend climbing the waterfalls with children.
